Your Opportunity + Impact
You will gain hands-on experience with the full bridge lifecycle: field investigation, inspection documentation, structural evaluation, design support, and final deliverables. The role is designed to build technical judgment and create a path toward greater engineering responsibility, licensure, or inspection leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with bridge inspections, site visits, field measurements, photo documentation, condition notes, and report preparation.
- Support engineering calculations, plan markups, repair details, quantity takeoffs, and technical documentation.
- Help prepare inspection reports, design memoranda, correspondence, and deliverables for client or agency review.
- Research applicable codes, standards, DOT criteria, and project requirements under senior staff guidance.
- Coordinate with engineers, designers, inspectors, and project managers to complete assigned tasks within scope and schedule.
- Participate in QA/QC processes by checking drawings, calculations, reports, and field documentation for accuracy and consistency.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, or related field preferred.
- EIT certification preferred for engineering-track candidates; bridge inspection interest or field experience is a plus.
- Internship, co-op, CAD, structural coursework, transportation experience, or field inspection exposure preferred but not required.
- Strong written communication, organization, willingness to learn, and comfort working in both office and field settings.
